Provo Temple Open House

I really wanted to go down to the Provo Temple Open House so I talked with both sides of the family to see if anyone wanted to go.  All of my family decided it would be fun to go see it together.  So I tried to set up an appointment for Rachel to get a recheck at the brain balance center but Sydney ended up quitting and so they cancelled it until March 23 during our spring break.  We ended up leaving around 10:15 from mom and dad's house.  We took Jared and Trenton so that Mom and Dad could fit into Paul's vehicle and didn't have to drive by themselves.
 Pilot & Co-Pilot

The three kids in the back seat.
Paul and my parents decided they were going to stop at Maddox to get some lunch.  We had to stop at the rest area so we just met them there.  It seems like it took forever to get their food.
We ended up leaving and headed to Sconecutter because we had told Damian we were going to be there at 1:00 and now it was going to be 1:30.  I was starving by the time we got there but of course it was delicious as always.  After lunch we headed to our hotel so that we could get changed for the temple.  That's when we found out the pool was closed.  We were kind of ticked but was like whatever.  We then had to wait for Paul to go to Walmart because Matthew forgot to bring any church pants with his church clothes.  So finally we headed to Provo around 3:30.
I took this right as we got to the temple and were walking from the parking lot that we parked in. We actually got into line about 1/2 an hour early.  So that was nice.

Waiting in line.  Everyone was still happy at this point.  The wait ended up not being as bad as I had heard it would be.  Some people had waited up to four hours to get through the temple.   We only had to wait about forty five minutes before we started into the temple.

The rest of our group that I didn't get in the first picture.

The start of the tour.  They even wrapped mom's wheelchair wheels with plastic wrap.  They have it worked out to a science though so she didn't even have to get out of the chair.

The outside of the temple.  So gorgeous.

 Family picture

Of course we had to get one of just Rachel by herself.
After that we ended up eating at Chuck A Rama.  We headed back to the hotel and were happy to see that they had the swimming pool back up and in working order.  I was watching the BYU men's vball game and then we went to the pool.  The kids of a ball while the adults hung out talking and soaking between the hot tub and the pool. It was a great day.

Family Craft Day

There was a decision made that we all wanted to get together to do a craft day in Scott's family.  So Tia found the craft we would do and then I provided the house.  It was lots of fun.  I think everyone's crafts turned out super cute.
 Everyone working on their board.

Hallee and her funny face while I was taking pictures of everyone.

Hallee photo bombing my picture of Brad cooking dinner for us.  That was awesome.

Here is my finished project.  I'm going to put it outside on my front porch and hope it doesn't get blown away.
The 2nd craft we did were Easter bunnies.  They were super easy and turned out really cute.

House Updates

The last few days I have had a few extra things that have been done for the house.  First I had Tia make me this really cool vinyl sign.  I'm going to make this corner into my command center with a few more things to keep us organized.  I think it turned out good.
The grey that you can't see very well because it's not a close up says command center.

Here we have another electrical outlet.
Scott talked with Justin about the fact that our outlet next to the sliding door wasn't working.  He said he would bring an electrician over to get it fixed.  They took off outlets on both sides of it and were kind of miffed as to why it wouldn't work.  We moved stuff out of this corner and the electrician asked Justin if he could feel that little bit of a bulge.  Justin said yep.  They figured there was an outlet back there that had gotten covered up by the dry wallers.  So the electrician took a screw driver and put a whole in the wall.  He found the outlet that needed power to connect the other outlet.  I was impressed that they found it on the first shot.  So now all my outlets work and they showed me what we needed to do to fix the breakers.  Things are coming along in the new house nicely.

Valentines Day

Since Valentine's day was on Sunday there really wasn't anything that we did special for Valentine's day.  We got to sleep in because Rachel let us and then we made breakfast.  Scott and I gave her her present from us.
 Opening it.

Once she read that this was bubble bath, shampoo, and body wash was exstatic.

She got some new socks that have faces on them.  I think she likes them also.

Close up of her presents.

7th Birthday

I can't believe we have a 7 year old.  One more year and she will get baptized.  That's all she talks about all the time.  Some of Rachel's favorites are:
Food:  Spaghetti
Color:  Purple and then pink
Reading:  Junie B. Jones
Height: 3' 8"
Wears size: 12 shoes, 6 pants, 7-8 shirts
Weight:
Favorite church song:  I stand all amazed
Favorite school song:  Cheerleader
When she grows up:  Wants to be a medical surgeon or teacher
Favorite show:  Descendants

Rachel decided to dress herself today.  I thought it wasn't worth the fight to have her put different clothes on so we just let her go like this.  She definitely has her own style.

This year was just a family party.  We just did cake and ice cream.  She wanted a frozen cake and so we spent the money and went with Walmart to get a white cake with strawberry filling and frozen on the front.
It turned out really cute and was so yummy.
Rachel opening her presents.  This was from us and we got her some new books and some new leggings because that's all she wears everyday.

Part of the group that was there to celebrate with Rachel.

Opening more presents from her parents.  Her new PJ's.

She was excited to blow out the candles.  She still doesn't get that it's only supposed to take one blow.  We had three blows.

Eating her cupcake that I made for her since she is gluten free.

Here is her stash of presents that she got.  She had a good bday.  Here is what everyone got her:

Cheer Camp

Highland High School had another cheer camp and Rachel really wanted to go.  So we signed her up and let her go to it.  This time they were actually going to perform at a boys basketball game.  They did performances at both the JV and Varsity.  Only one performance that I got was a good video. The 2nd time she danced she was always behind someone and I didn't get her very well.
She was clear across the gym from us but she is the one standing up doing some dancing while waiting to perform.  She wasn't into the game very much but loved sitting by one of the cheerleaders and entertaining them.
She's excited to perform while watching the 1st group do their performance.

For the first cheer she is in the far back to the left.  Her second cheer she's right up from.

Class Valentine's Party

This year Rachel's teacher got sick the week of Valentines.  She didn't get enough parents willing to come in and help with the party and so she decided to forgo the party and let them just watch a movie for the valentine's party.  I was fine with that as I was able to stay home and work on getting the house clean for Rachel's party tomorrow.  They ended up watching Franklin's Valentine and having a popcorn party.
This is what Rachel gave for her Valentine's gift to her classmates.

I thought this was a super cute idea.

Here are all the valentine's she got from her classmates.

Here is a close up of some that were cute.  Her teacher gave them all chalk and then Emery made little super hero suckers.

Scott's Work

So Family Medical Clinic of Chubbuck took out an ad in the Buddy Mail.  Here is what it looks like.
Since we are on the topic of Scott's work I had him do a little procedure on some skin tags that I wanted taken off.  He is so good at what he does.
Yes I let him give me two shots and put a stitch in my head.  I trust him for sure.

Super Bowl 50 (2016)

This year we had the super bowl party at our house.  It was so awesome watching it on the big screen.  Most the kids didn't want to watch it so they were out in the family room playing.  They screamed a lot and had fun so we didn't care as long as they weren't bothering us during the game or commercials.  The Denver Bronco's beat the Carolina Panthers 24 - 10.  I didn't care who one but Kristin ended up picking the Panthers and so I had to cheer for the Bronco's.  I was happy with the outcome even if she was not a happy camper.  I totally forgot to take any pictures of the party.  Everyone had fun and we had lots and lots of food to eat.  This will definitely become a tradition.  Rachel is excited that she doesn't have to watch the game and gets to play the whole time it's going on.
