Last dinner with Boise Friends

So I sent an email to my ISU CSED friends and told them that I was moving back to Pocatello.  So if they wanted to get together we needed to do it soon.  Everyone made the attempt to get there.  We went and tried the new restaurant out at the new Village at Meridian.  We went to the Yardhouse and the food was actually really good.  It was fun to just hang out.  We were there for about two hours catching up on everything everyone was doing.  Here is the picture afterwards.  I'm definitely going to miss these wonderful ladies.

Mother's Day 2014

This mother's day we were down in Montpelier.  It was fun.  When we got back to Scott's parents house we got to open our presents.  Rachel gave me an M&M game that she made during primary. Since we were at Scott's parents ward we ended up getting a necklace and some chocolate. I ended up deciding what I wanted as my gift.  I had gone to a pikle party at Kammi's house and so they showed us these really cool new inventions called a pikle.  I was like this is it.  This is exactly what I want.  Here is what a pikle looks like.

The outside cover, the baggies, and all the items that go into the pikle.
 What it looks liked filled.
Completely filled up.  This is going to be in my car so that I have all these items whenever I need it.  It's going to come in handy.

Idaho Botanical Gardens

This month's field trip for Rachel's preschool class was to the botanical gardens.  We were one of the first ones there and just hung out.  Rachel played with her friends and ran around while we waited.
These are her friends.  Rachel, Crystal and Aubree.  These three like to talk and play at school instead of getting their work done. :-)

The first thing they do on all their field trips is sing their hello song.  It's so cute.

This was our instructor for the day.  She was really good.  She talked at the kids level so that they could understand the cycle of flowers.

They got popcorn as a snack to show that sometimes you can eat plants.  She was excited about this.  She loves, loves, loves popcorn.

They learned about bugs and why they are important to plants.  She got to hold a rolley polley. She lost the first one but got to get another one out of the container.
In this section of the gardens they looked for all kinds of natural things.  Pine Cones, bark, tree branches etc.  Anything they could find that would have been from a tree or a plant.

This is the brand new tree house that over looks part of the gardens.  As you can tell the kids had so much fun running around being crazy on it.  I was sad that the gardens weren't in bloom.  We saw mostly just green plants and nothing blooming.

They had the Coe fish pond.  I had to watch Rachel really closely to make sure she didn't go swimming with them like she tries to do at Bop's house.

The last thing we saw was this petrified log.  She decided she would pose for me.  We then headed to Chick-Fil-A for lunch with Amy and Aubree Coe.  We were able to let the girls play some more in the playground and then that allowed for Amy and myself to have adult time.  It was fun.  A great day of learning and playing.

Cinco De Mayo

Well in Pocatello I used to go out all the time for Cinco De Mayo.  Since living in Boise we really didn't do much for this day.  When Scott got home from work we headed out to a new mexican restaurant that we hadn't tried.  It was Casa De Mexico.  There was a about a twenty minute wait but we didn't think that was to bad. The food was good for our first time at this Mexican place.
Happy Cinco De May!

Baby Killdeer

So one of Rachel's favorite things to do right now is chase the baby killdeer that come into our yard.  I let her go outside and play today.  I started to hear this chirping high pitch noise.  It kept going on and on and on.  I decided I had better look to see what was happening.  This is why there was so much noise.
She had caught the baby killdeer in her hands and wouldn't let it go.  I'm sure it thought it was going to be squished or something.  Needless to say I told her to let it go.  She went and put it back in the garden and it ran under the fence to get away.  I was surprised she had even caught it because most of the time they are so fast she hadn't been able to catch any.  This one got out into the grass and couldn't run as fast as he does on the straight dirt.  Note to self:  Catching Killdeer are easy if they get to the grass.

Started Packing

So I finally got the motivation up to start packing.  I am excited to move back to Pocatello but I'm really dreading the packing and moving everything.  It's going to get alot of work.  Here is what I was able to get finished today.  This is just the cabinet we had in the extra bedroom and also some of the bookshelves.

Butterflies

At Rachel's preschool her teacher bought caterpillars so that they could learn how they turn into butterflies.  Today was the day to let all the butterflies out so that they could be free.
Starting to pull them out of the net house.

Rachel checking it out.  She was excited about this.

This is one of the butterflies that Rachel got to let free. An exciting experiment for the kids that is for sure.
