Lost my spot
Well of course I am always the last one to go to bed. This night I was downstairs watching TV and working on things. When I finally went up to bed I had lost my spot in bed. We had a stow away in bed and she was sleeping in my spot while Scott was asleep on his side of the bed.

1st Talk in Primary
Today Rachel had her 1st talk in Primary. She was able to do the whole thing with me only giving her 3 ques. We sat down and asked her questions about what is Heavenly Father's plan and this is the talk she came up with by us asking questions. She is a smart little cookie and loves learning about Heavenly Father and Jesus. She of course loves to be up at the microphone so it's pretty easy for her to do these things. So here is her talk.
Heavenly Father's plan is for us to return to live with him.
In order to return to him we have to always be good every day.
We need to be nice to our friends and our family.
We need to follow the example of Jesus Christ by being baptized and receiving the Holy Ghost which will help me to follow Heavenly Fathers Plan. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Since it's not really kosher to record at church we recorded her doing it here at the house.

Valentine's Day
Today is Valentine's Day. I always try to do something fun with Rachel for this day. When she got up her door looked like this.
The streamers are from her birthday but we added the hearts.
The sayings we put on the hearts.
After Scott read all the hearts to Rachel we then ended up coming downstairs to get breakfast. I thought I would try to make pancakes that were in heart shape.
I'd consider this an epic fail. I'm not good at making things out of pancake batter. It's the thought that counts right??? After breakfast I ended up taking her to Preschool. She showed me their pet fish.
Then showed me some of the lessons she has learned.
Counting
Putting the blocks in order for the marble to roll down it.
These are the three bags of valentines she got. The one on the left is from dance class, then she made the white one at Kristin's Preschool and the last one was made at montessori.
When Scott got home we went out for dinner.
Red Robin was where we decided to eat. We waited until after we ate before we gave Rachel her Valentines presents from us. It kept her on her best behavior.
She got the movie the Lorax, body soaps and a box of chocolate. We had a fun Valentines day!

Rachel's Fun Week
So on Tuesday the 12th at the Learning Center they celebrated Rachel's Birthday. I took sugar cookies for the kids to all decorate. They had fun. Then on Wednesday at the Montessori they celebrated her birthday and she got to wear the birthday crown. She was excited about that. After the we went to dance class where they exchanged valentines with each other there and then we did her birthday party that night. On Thursday at the Learning Center they celebrated Valentine's Day. They wanted to be able to give her a day of celebrating of her birthday and also Valentines day. They were sweet to think about her.
Having snacks at LLC
The kids exchanging Valentine's with each other.
Rachel's turn to go down through everyone.
We decided that we needed to also have a few presents left from us for her to open actually on her birthday. So these were the final gifts we had for her along with cards from everyone. A color wonder paint set. This is actually really cool.
She got the Harmony Care Bear and cards from Grani and Bop with her Birthday and Valentine's money in it.

Rachel's Birthday Party
We were going to have Rachel's Party on February 8th with my parents and Scott's family. Well the weather got horrible and Scott's family got snowed in, in Montpelier. They ended up getting two feet of snow over that weekend. So we ended up having a quick party for her on the day before her birthday. I had a volleyball game on the night of her birthday. We invited Linda and Stan and also Scott's cousin Cortnee who lives over here with her family. It was a quick party and really low key. I was hoping to be able to do a Frozen theme cake but we couldn't find anything Frozen here in Boise and Jamie had the Frozen set that I had her buy for us to put on the cake. So needless to say I headed to Wal-mart and just got a cake that was already made that was Pink and Purple for her.
She didn't seem to be upset about her cake so I was happy about that.
Large Rapunzel doll from Cortnee's family.
Books from the Hanson's
Climbing into a box to get another present. So funny looking. So what's in the box???
The Octopod from Grandma and Grandpa Schaffer
This fan was one of the favorite things she got. Why do we even buy gifts for kids sometime?
Rapunzel gifts from Papa & Mema.
Here is everything she got.
Mom & Dad: Belle Dress and Accessories, Doc McStuffin and Disney Princess PJ's, New shirt, Cootie and Greedy Gater games.
Grandma & Grandpa Hobbs - Pretzels, Big Candle
Grani & Bop - $10.00

Date Night
Alright date nights have become few and far between where it is just Scott and I. We ended up getting a babysitter and headed out on the town. We got to eat at Lock Stock and Barrel for dinner and then decided we would go to a hockey game. We tried out this restaurant because I was able to get a 1/2 price deal certificate and we had heard great things about them. This is what their menu comes out looking like.
Yes that is a wood menu. The food was alright. I didn't think it was anything great to talk about. I wouldn't spend that kind of money again to go there unless I did have a half price certificate.
Of course I had to do a selfie of us at the arena.
We walked up to the window and bought tickets. We got seats this close to the ice. It was so awesome. The only other time we saw a hockey game was when we were up in the luxury suites and you really can't see to much. Down here you really see the action. It was actually lots of fun. We were only six rows up from the ice.
What great seats!
And of course you can't go to the hockey game and not take a picture of the Zamboni. What an awesome machine and so much fun to watch it up close.

Snow Day
We don't get these very often but we actually had a snow day. I don't understand why with so little snow we ended up with a snow day but we did. Rachel wanted to go outside and play in it. I was fine with that. She wanted me to come out but it was so cold. I think that was more why things were closed was because it was below zero. She still wanted to be out there so by all means have fun with that.
Who loves the snow??? That's right this little girl.
So what do you do when you are done playing in the snow and then you are bored. Your mom puts you to work doing your Valentines Day gifts for all your classes. We had two preschool classes and her dance class to do these for.
Helping to put all the bouncy balls in the packets and counting candy hearts.
This was how many we did. 30 of them. At one point Rachel told me she thought this was boring also. Needless to say I didn't feel sorry for her because these were for her. I made her help me with all of them. The saying said: Have a BALL this Valentines Day. I thought it was pretty cute and totally different.

Cub Scout Awards
Scott and I are both in the cub scouts in our ward. We went to Scout University and both of us got trained. I also found out that I could get a religious knot because I earned my Young Women's medallion when I was younger. So we got awarded our awards at Packing Meeting this month. They tried to take a picture but it didn't turn out so we came home and took our own pictures.

McCall Winter Festival
Today was the last day of the McCall winter festival. We had to wait until my Stake volleyball was over for the day before we were able to go up there. We knew that Rachel wouldn't want to stay the whole time so we were fine with getting up there later in the day. We stopped 1st at the ice sculpture that is just as you come into town at the Best Western Hotel.
Standing by the Kangaroo. Here is the rest of the picture:
Sydney Opera House
While Scott and I were getting our winter clothes on Rachel was so excited to see the snow that she was up this mountain of snow climbing all over it. She really actually didn't want us to have to move from it. We did finally get her to come down so we could go see the sculptures.
She was able to climb on almost every sculpture. She makes a great model. :-)
This was some building like they have in Japan.
A car that you could actually sit in.
An ice slide. We stayed here for about ten minutes while she went up and down this every which way she could.
A Unicorn
The details on this were amazing. It won 1st place in the contest where they made these in one day.
This was my all time favorite. It was all the characters from Finding Nemo. So cool!!!
Huge Cupcake
A VW Bug
This was king of the mountain. You got to actually put a flag in the top once you got up there.
The penguins. We then ended up going and getting dinner at a restaurant we hadn't tried yet. It was called My Father's Place. It was packed but we were able to get a table and the food was pretty good. After that we decided that we should let Rachel go sledding. Yes real sledding. We have taken her around the neighborhood on the 4 wheeler but she had never gone down a hill on a sled. Oh she was so happy.
Walking back up the hill. We actually had to walk down and get her every time and then help her back up the hill. She just didn't have enough traction to get back up. We did this for about an hour.
She wanted to go back and do the slide again and so we let her. She did this for another 1/2 an hour as we waited for the firework show to start. The firework show was actually pretty good for a little town's firework show. We got back to the car and she was so cold because as we found out her socks were soaking wet from snow having gone into her shoes. She started crying because of it. We got her cloths off of her and put blankets on her to get her warmed up. It was a fun day.
We snapped this one on the way out of town. It was a pyramid and you could go inside to see the lights glow through the ice. They have some amazing people who come up with some awesome sculptures.
