Valentines Day

So for Valentines Day every year we don't really do anything special. So this year I was in an enrichment class and they were talking about some good ideas of what to do for our "Valentines". So a candy bar poster was one of the ideas from enrichment. It was actually a lot of fun. Big thanks for Kristi for helping me with it. She thought it would make a good idea for her "Valentine" also. So here is our final product.

New Truck

Okay so I have to say this is partly my fault. I gave Scott an ultimatum that we had to figure out how to buy a new truck this year or we were going to be selling the camper. We haven't used it for two years. Our old truck only got 4 miles to the gallon and so it killed us to haul it any where so we were just going camping with people who had campers and we just stayed in their campers with them. So we started looking for a truck and we didn't want to find one before May. Scott had the ideal truck that he wanted (06 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel, standard, four door short bed truck) but after talking with several salespersons they pretty much told him there was going to be now way to find what he wanted because they just didn't make very many of them in 06 and those who have them don't want to give them up. Scott really wanted a diesel and I was so happy when this one sales lady told him he could buy a lot of gas for the $7,000 dollars more that a diesel truck was going to cost vs. a regular gas truck would cost. So we were out looking at trucks and found this one and we both fell in love with it and so we bought it sooner than we really wanted to. It's a really nice truck and we really like it. It's sitting in the garage though until my leased car gets turned back in and we are back down to two vehicles. It kills Scott to have it sitting there but there just isn't any reason to run the gas for it right now when we have cars that get better gas mileage.

Scott's so funny when he talks about the truck. Ask him what a Hemi sounds like.. :-)

I think the light covers are one of the coolest parts of the truck.
At least besides the heated seats.

Has four doors and all leather interior.

The details in the leather are pretty cool. I like having heated seats and we can both control our own side of the truck. So I can have my own controls and can have it cooler then Scott likes it on his side of the truck.

Update

I know it's been awhile since we have done any blogging. There hasn't been that much excitement going on here in Boise. Scott and I have both been really busy working. So here's what's happened the last four months......At Christmas time we ended up staying home because Scott worked the whole time. I ended up having my parents come and hang with me because I didn't want to spend the whole vacation by myself. I was bummed because I, of course, had 10 days off work but oh well what do you do? I got a Wii for Christmas since Scott got the piano. We have had fun playing it. I'm getting better as the days go by. Scott of course can beat me in almost everything. I'm not that big of a gamer but I'm starting to hold my own. Scott's brother came home on Dec 28th but we weren't able to see him until his homecoming because of Scott's work schedule. My niece Ashley got baptized January 2nd and it was so scary trying to get there on time because of course it snowed the night before and the roads were totally icy and hadn't been cleared before we had to be in Twin Falls. Tyson's homecoming ended up being the 17th of January so we spent the weekend in Montpelier with Scott's family. I started working on Girls Camp stuff in January. It's totally crazy to think that we have started already but it's been rough trying to get any Assistant Camp Directors and so we now just have volunteers helping me. Scott stopped working two jobs the first part of January but started back to school. He is taking 6 credits this semester. They are all online and so he can go at his own pace and it works great with his work schedule. He quit working at St. Al's to work at Mercy Medical in Nampa. The funny part about this is that St. Al's bought Mercy a couple of weeks after Scott quit and so he still works out at the Nampa Hospital but works for St. Al's again. So funny. We were laughing about it. It's been a year now that we have been trying to adopt. So we are having our home study renewed. We have also bought our plane tickets to Orlando. Scott and I are so excited to be able to go there. Scott's never been to a Disney theme park so it will be a new experience for him. I hope we can get everything in that we want to while we are down there. So that's pretty much everything in a nut shell of what's happening in our lives.

Christmas Letter 2009

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

What a year 2009 has been for us. We have both been very busy doing new things this year.
Scott took on a second job working for Mercy Medical Center in the Emergency Department. He has decided he likes the ER much better than working in the ICU. After January he plans to work only at Mercy. He was also given an awesome opportunity to become the Southwest Idaho Regional Coordinator for a company called Need a Nurse Medical Staffing. Scott’s church calling this last year has been teaching Gospel Doctrine, which he has enjoyed. In his spare time he is looking at heading back to school.
Susan helped Idaho State University move into a new building over the summer which was quite a feat. This summer she also received an opportunity for a promotion, Admin Assistant for the College of Pharmacy. The program is expanding from 60 students this year to 160 students in the next 3 years. Susan also learned how to do medical billing. She is doing a little bit of billing on the side for a Speech Language Pathologist and an Occupational Therapist, unsure of how she would like this; she is starting to get more comfortable with it. Susan was also approached by Need a Nurse Medical Staffing to be their Human Resource Coordinator and help Scott with paperwork. Then as if she has nothing better to do when there is time she still works with Primerica helping people get out of debt. Susan’s church calling is teaching Relief Society which she enjoys. She is also the new Girls Camp Director which she’s ecstatic about but feels very overwhelmed because it’s a Ward camp instead of a Stake camp.
The most exciting news of the year is we received our approval to ADOPT through LDS Family Services. We know that you all are very excited for us and will be even more excited when a child is placed with us. We are really excited to go through this process but have met many ups and downs as we have traveled through the phases of preparing our profile. We have now come to a phase called the “searching and waiting phase.” This phase is one that we need all of your help with. Tell everyone you know that we are adopting. To help you all do this we have included our profile information and contact information. Someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, is how most adoptions happen. We also need your patience with this process. If you have not heard the explosion of excitement from us just assume we are still looking and waiting for our child. It was once said that, “Patience is a necessary ingredient of genius.” We know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for our family; it just takes patience on our part to let his genius plan work.
