Steamboat Trip Day #3 - Gondola Ride

Today Scott and I had to go to a meeting about our timeshares.  We ended up getting $100 worth of food certificates but found out things we weren't really happy to find out about.  After the meeting we headed up to Steamboat Gondola Square.  We ate at the Gondola restaurant before we took the Gondola ride.

At lunch.  Rachel didn't want her picture taken but we got a little bit of a good one.  She was getting grumpy with the whole picture taking because we took lots and lots of picture.

 This is how excited this little girl was about this gondola ride.  She is fearless.

This is Grandma's excitement vs. Rachel's excitement.    Rachel was all over the Gondola because she was just so excited and was going from one side to the other side. After the ride was going up everyone was more relaxed and just watching the scenery as we headed up the hill.

 This is the 1st mountain we went up.  I thought this was the top of the hill but......

 then we went over the top and there was another mountain to go up. This is the 2nd mountain.

We are at the top of the hill looking down on Steamboat.  Isn't it just gorgeous.

The next mountain that skier's can take to more ski hills at the the lodge.

 These are some of the trails we could take a hike on or ride a bike.  Lots of bikers riding the Gondola and then riding their bikes down the trails to the bottom.  That's how I like to mountain bike for sure.

We decided to take the 1 mile nature hike with Rachel while Scott's parents decided to stay at the lodge and enjoy the view. 

This is as far as we made it from the Lodge.  Yes you can still see the lodge in the background.  Rachel wasn't into hiking unless we carried her and there was no way Scott and I could do that.  She's getting to big to be carried any longer.

 We didn't get to stay for very long because there was this storm coming in and they told us we don't want to be on the top when it comes in because they actually close the gondola and then they take you down in a truck and it takes a lot longer to get down.  When we got down we went through the shops looking for any good clearance items.  They didn't have any but this is what happened while we shopped.

This was a worn out little girl.  She totally fell asleep on her dad's head.  Needless to say we went back to the timeshare to take naps.  That's what vacations are for right to relax.
