Head wounds

This last few weeks was rough for Rachel.  She ended up with two head wounds.  The first one came at the JT family reunion.  She decided this huge dog would make a great pillow.  Well needless to say the dog wasn't happy that Rachel hurt her as she was getting off of her.  She swatted her big huge paw at Rachel and cut her head open.  We were in the woods so Scott just super glued it and then used part of the hair as stitches.
Not bad for being in the woods.
Then it was six weeks later and I got a phone call from Scott saying I needed to go get Rachel because she got hurt at school.  So I headed over there and had no idea what I was walking in to.  Thankfully there was a friend from the ward sitting there holding Rachel and comforting her.  I took this picture to send to Scott.
He said he couldn't tell really what was going on but go to the clinic.  So I headed straight to the clinic and said Susie please help.  We took her to a room and started to clean up her head.  Susie was like yep she's going to have to get staples.  While we waited for Scott we were trying to figure out what happened.  All she could say was that she fell off the monkey bars.  Scott got there right after we got it cleaned up and she needed some staples in her head.  So I held her while Scott gave her the shot to deaden the spot.  Oh boy she screamed bloody murder but other then that she was a complete trooper and hardly cried at all through it.
7 stitches later it's all put back together.  She did had a giant goose egg that went along with it.
Side Note:  Once Rachel's thoughts stopped being all mangled she was able to tell us that she was crawling down head first on the spider web and slipped.  She thought oh I'll just drop down to the ground and my knees will hit the ground first.  She didn't get flipped around and landed right on her head.

Rachelism

So it's been quite awhile since we've had a really good Rachelism but I had to share this one.  We were at work in Boise for a few days.  Rachel got to come with me.  She ended up meeting one of the SLP's she hadn't meet before.  This is the conversation.
Rachel:  Hi
Colette:  Hi, You must be Rachel.
R:  How did you know that?
C:  Well I see lots of pictures on Facebook of you.  Your really cute.
R:  Yeah I am.  I'm really smart and I have a really big personality too. It's okay I can handle it though.

American Ninja Warrior

So one show that Rachel loves to watch is American Ninja Warrior.  So today she was tired of me working and she came up with her own American Ninja Warrior obstacle course.  Yes my front room is now the obstacle course.
I wished I had gotten a picture of her doing it.  So cute and funny.

Brain Balance Center

Today was our first day going to the Brain Balance center in Utah.  It takes us two and a half hours to get down there.  I wasn't sure what to expect so we got there around noon.  Rachel decided she wanted to eat at Dickey's.  So she had the Mac n Cheese and I had the special. It was pretty good.  We then went to the center.  Rachel got to play for a little bit in the house they have built in the center.  They then took her back with another little boy named Kayden.  I went with Sydney and and she gave me the "Book"
We went over everything about the program.  She showed me the exercises that we have to do at home three times a day.  I asked how do you get a stubborn kid to do it.  She said we needed a reward system like they have at the center.  They get brain bucks while they are there for doing good.  So we need to start a reward system at home.  They also told me that her diet is going to entail taking out gluten, dairy, soy, and peanuts.  I thought maybe they would test to see if they were having any of those allergies when in actuality they just take them out of the diet.  I'm totally freaked out about that part of this. They also said that they only get 30 minutes of screen time a day.  Needless to say when we got in the car and I took away the iPad I had one really unhappy camper.  She loved being at the center and had fun.  She got tired and this is how she was in the car coming home.
She was of course asleep until I took the shot.  I love that she has her legs crossed and yes this is the look she had after being told all the things we needed to do at home.  She is definitely not a happy camper.
