Dad's Turn at doing the Hair

When Susan went back to work I was left to do her hair. This is the one good hair day we have had. I actually got two pig tails in.

The day before these pics she ended up with one pig tail on the top of her head. The day after these pics after several attempts I ran out of luck and we ended up with barrettes holding her hair out of her eyes.

I was so proud that she had 2 pig tails that were close to the same spot on her head that I chased her around the house with the camera trying to get pics of my work of art!

Toddler Showers

So there have been several showers for Rachel since she's been placed with us. The first one was my work party. It was fun even though they were bummed that we had to take Rachel back to the foster parents. She got lots of great things. She got clothes, some board books, a hippo puppet, a blanket and my friend Chris Wilson thought it would be fun to give us some finger paints for Rachel. I think we will wait for a bit before she gets to try those out.
Tinkerbell Blanket - Its really soft

Some of the clothes she got.
The fingerpaints with some books, lotion and Boogie Wipes.

Some more books and the hippo puppet. It oinks Old McDonald & Are you Sleeping?

We then also had a neighborhood shower. We had so many people there at Kammi's house but it was good to get all the Charter Pointe Ward members back together now that our ward split and we are in two different wards. Rachel got to come see everyone for a few minutes and then Scott took her back to the Foster parents house that night.

This is Rachel hanging out before showing how cute she is and how much she likes the piano.

The present table. We were opening forever.

Winter Fun

December 1st was an awesome day for our family. We were given the okay to have Rachel full time. Its considered "Temporary" since we can't get our fingerprints done until December 13th so legally they can't permanently place Rachel with us until the fingerprints come back clean. We don't care, we are just so happy to have her in our home full time. So we took her home and let her play in the 8 inches of snow that we got in Boise that day. It was awesome. Scott did lots of snow plowing for people that morning until we went to pick up Rachel. Here is some video and pictures of our snow day.
Rachel and Daddy

Rachel and Mommy
She wasn't quite sure about the snow suit.
It took her awhile to decide she really could move in it.
Trying really hard to walk in the snow but she kept face planting because it was to much and she kept sinking into it. The snow was really wet. This is better. I can walk. I'll take the slush on the driveway. She kept walking around the truck in all the slush. Gave up walking across the grass since she couldn't stay up.

Getting a ride on the tub with mom and dad being the power. If she was a little bit older we totally would have hooked her up to the 4 wheeler and taken her around the neighborhood.

Can you tell what our snowman is???????
It's the Grinch. I started the snowman with the bottom and middle balls. Scott worked on the head and the next time I turned and looked and this is what it ended up being. I couldn't believe it. In person I knew exactly what he had made. We thought about going and getting green food coloring but by the time we went in we were to tired to go out and do anything else to it. So this is the best we could do.

This video is just a little tubing fun.

Decorating for Christmas

The other day we decided it was time to put up the Christmas tree and our other Christmas ornaments. So I was pulling out my nativity and I thought Rachel was just touching the shredded paper and playing right there with it. Well as you can tell by picture number two she did a number with the paper shredding.
Yep she had it strung all over the living room. She did help me pick it up but I was a little shocked at how quickly she was able to do this. Scott just sat there and watched her do it and let me find it when I finally turned around. It actually looked even worst because this was about 1/2 through what she did. She actually had the whole pile strung out across the floor.

Our little Christmas tree

Rachel by the tree. Not totally sure what to do with it.
She actually only tugs on the bottom limbs and that's been it.
I'm crossing my fingers.
