Coeur D' Alene Idaho, Day #1

We decided that since Scott had one week off of school we should use this time to go to our timeshares for a quick trip.  We headed up to our timeshares in Coeur D' Alene Idaho. Rachel was so excited to go on vacation that the day before we left she woke me up at 5:00 in the morning asking if it was time to go on vacation.  Needless to say I took her back to bed.  The day we were leaving she woke me up at 6:00 am asking if it was time to go.  So I let Scott sleep but Rachel ended up being totally grumpy and crying for the next two hours.  She wouldn't do anything that was asked of her.  So Scott got up rototilled the garden and I finished packing us.  We got on the road around 10:00.  While I was mailing a package Scott got a call from the hospital telling him that in order to get his duffel bag for Nurses Week he had to pick up his bag around 11:00. So we had a few minutes to spare and we ran some errands.  Rachel, of course, since she had been up so early ended up falling asleep just as we started down the street.
She was so tired she didn't even care that her sunglasses were right against her nose.  She is so funny some of the positions she ends up sleeping in.  We stopped at the hospital for Scott's duffel bag. We then decided that since it was noon we should just eat in Nampa.  We stopped at Wingers for lunch and it was so good.  We finally got on the road for "REAL" around 1:15.  We were on the road and this is just some pictures of us traveling.

Rachel hanging out in her car seat watching Elmo.  She was on an Elmo kick the whole trip.  She wouldn't watch any other movies but Elmo.
I love our cheesy grins.  I don't know why we can't get a good picture when we are trying to take them ourselves.  We end up with these grins all the time.

Yep we hit construction on four different occasions.  This was the 1st one that we really had to wait.  So I jumped out and I took a picture of the view.  This next picture is the view from the top of White Bird Hill.

Pretty nice view huh.  The views were spectacular on the way up and back.
We tried to stop in Moscow to eat but on the road we came into town on there were not any restaurants for us to eat at. So since we got started so late we ended up just stopping at Zip's Drive-In Plummer Idaho, because we were hungry and still had about an hour and a 1/2 to get to Coeur D' Alene. I thought it was funny it was a Zip's.  We used to live right next to a Zip's here in Boise and had never eaten there.  Go on vacation and that was our only option in that little town. We ended up in Coeur D' Alene around 8:30.  We still had to go another 30 minutes to our condo which was on the other side of the lake.  The condo's were nice but our view was even better.

Looking right off of the deck.

Looking straight off the deck.  The lake was about 50 yards away from our building.

Dance Class

Rachel has been in dance class since the beginning of the year.  I was worried there for a little bit that she wouldn't like dance class either.  After working with Kristin and Meridian we figured it out that if I take Rachel to class and then leave she actually listens to Meridian and doesn't try to use me to get out of doing things she doesn't want to do.  So I haven't been able to get any dance pictures up until now.  I was only able to get a few of the warm up pictures because then she was running over to me to get out of doing her exercises.  So I had to leave.  Here are some of her dance class pictures.

They get to wear a tutu for each class and Rachel loves the pink tutu the best.

Running in circles to warm up before the stretching.

Still running.

Vivian, Meridian, and Rachel.
Rachel is doing so well at class.  She listens to Meridian's directions and doesn't have to be told to keep on task hardly any longer.  It's nice to see that she likes dance.

Rachel Sporting her hat

We decided to go out to eat tonight because we got so much done today.  So Rachel wasn't letting anyone touch her hair so we talked her into at least wearing her hat.  She's so cute in her hat that Grandpa Pooh gave her.  Here's her pics with her hat on today.

New Rototiller

This year I'm trying to get our garden up and going.  I had to test our soil to see why the last time we planted a garden everything came out tasting like metal.  I took my findings to Zamzows and they told me that I would need to till sulfur into the ground.  So I have been waiting for a day that Scott would be off to do this.  I called around looking to find out how much it would cost to rent a rototiller and it was 75 bucks just for 3 hours.  After talking with Scott we decided that we would just go buy a rototiller because if we rented it four times that would pay for a new one.  We are going to have to till the sulfur in, water it down, wait a week and do it all over again in order to "sweeten" our soil.  So after doing some research on rototillers we decided on the Craftsman 208cc Front Tine Tiller. Scott got it put together today and started using it.  It worked so great and our garden spot is starting to come to shape.

Rachel helping her dad put the rototiller together.

She even has her own tools that she's using to help him put it together.  She likes helping.

This is the 1st time tilling this year.  This beast digs so deep into the soil it brought up a ton of rocks.  We will be picking up rocks forever.

Scott getting his work out for the day with the tiller.

Cheese!!!  Yep he likes his new tool.  Works awesome and we are so happy to have it.  Will be a little bit easier to garden now.
