Technology Overload

So this last month has been rough for me with technology. I use to think I was keeping up with technology but after this month I think I'm technology challenge. At work they have decided to add Google Apps to our new Bengal Web. The biggest change will be that they are changing out our e-mail to g-mail and we have to figure out how to either use it or be left behind. I like several things about g-mail but our training really couldn't be considered training because all they did was shows us the capabilities of Google Apps. My biggest complaint is I really don't have time to learn something new. I am also the one that is supposed to show everyone in our department how to use it. Oh well I really don't have a choice so here we go.

Here at home Scott has gone on a technology binge. He bought us new I-Pods Nano's last month. The only thing I have learned so far is how to turn it on and how to download our CD's to it. Scott was asking me about why I didn't have the songs all coming on at the same volume level and I told him I had no idea what he was talking about. He just shook his head at me. He likes to sit and piddle with his but I pretty much just steal his songs that he downloads and then when I'm going on a road trip I take my I-Pod with me. So here is my purple ipod and Scott got a silver one. He definitely uses his more than mine. Hopefully since I'm working out again I will use it more.

Then two days ago he went and bought us new cellphones because we were due for an upgrade. So he went in and bought both of us the HTC Fuze. It's got some really cool features and we bought this phone because Primerica is using it to do our paperless applications. He did lots of research and the AT&T sales people tried to talk him out of it. They gave us several websites to look at reviews about the phones and he decided that the phones would work great for what we wanted. We wanted business phones with business applications on it vs. a phone that would end up being an expensive toy. (They say it's not good for games, MP3 playing, etc.) So I've figured out how to make a phone call on it and that's about it. I tried to get onto the internet but I couldn't read a thing on the page. Scott says that you can make it bigger but we are both learning. Unfortunately they don't give you a how to booklet, you have to read the online tutorial. Hopefully I'll find time to figure it out. ARGH to much new stuff coming out all at the same time.
This is in the closed position. The screen is a touch screen so that's cool. I'm getting used to it.
This is the open position. I love having a keyboard. I get to type text messages alot faster. No more having to hit a key four times to get to the right letter. It's also cool because the screen switches to landscape from portrait automatically.

Garden Update

So I thought I would give an update about our garden. So this is all the carrots that came out of our garden. They actually all grew very good. The bummer part about all of this is that they tasted like lead and weren't good so we had to throw them all out.
This was our biggest carrot. It was crazy looking but it was huge. Scott and I wondered if we could have entered it in the fair. I'm sure the fair only takes nice looking normal carrots. Oh well it's pretty funny looking and we gave us a good laugh about it.

1st Canning Attempt

Here is my 1st attempt at canning. Yep I said it. I did attempt to can. My mother is going to dying because she knows how much I love gardening and then having to can. I never liked it growing up and I'm not sure I like it now. It was a really good thing I had a husband who actually paid attention growing up because I'm a complete idiot when it comes to canning. We planted one cucumber plant and a few weeks ago I thought I was going to have to go to the store and buy more cucumbers so that I could get some pickles canned. Well I went out on Thursday and sure enough there was more than I could possible expect on that one plant. We were able to pick 16 good size cucumbers. Scott and I went and bought all the stuff we needed to can some Dill Pickles. (When we get some more cucumbers I will have to do sweet pickles for Scott). We had nothing so we had to buy the bottles and even a pot in order to do the cold packing. I was shocked it only took 2 hours to get all of this done from start to finish. Scott walked me through every step because like I said I'm an idiot when it comes to this kind of thing. Every jar ended up sealing and I was so happy. Now we just have to wait 6 to 12 months to make sure we did it right and they taste okay. So now we wait.

New Laundry Room Shelf

So I talked Scott into getting a shelf hung up in our laundry room. I've been missing the clothing rod that we had in our old house. I had started to hang clothes over the door frame. So we hung up this shelf and rod. I love it. The only thing left for home improvements is the counter top in the laundry room so I can fold clothes in there also.
