Live Nativity

We were told about a live Nativity at the church by Mountain View High School.  I thought it would be awesome to take Rachel to see.  I was thinking it was going to be like what we had in Pocatello where you would see Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, some shepards and animals all hanging out in the stable.  Well in Boise they do it completely different.  They really get into the whole nativity.  They have each part of the nativity and they act it out.   They split us up into small groups.  We had tour guides and stopped at each part of the nativity.

We had to wait in line before we could go through the walls to the city of Bethlehem.  They had these little fires all over the place so people could stay warm.

Rachel wasn't totally sure what to do but she didn't want to hang out waiting in line.  We got this just before we headed to the line to hang out.  We actually just let her run around like some of the other kids.  She of course kept trying to get further and further away.

Yes this is a real camel.  The kids were able to feed him hay and he was loving all the attention from the kids.

Rachel was really close and loved feeding him.  I was a little bit nervous but she was fine.

 This is the Innkeeper.

Shephards watching their flocks.  They had sheep behind them.

The host of Angels.  They sang five songs for us before we moved onto the stable.

Finally Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus.  They had the wise men come out and say things also at this part.

This was very well done.  They needed everyone to have microphones who had parts though.  We were in little groups but they still weren't loud enough all of us could hear them as they spoke.  We will definitely go back again next year.
