Elf on the Shelve

A friend of mine had posted about the elf on the shelf.  So I talked with her about it and thought that it would be a good idea to have one this year.  It's a spy for Santa Claus.  You put it out so your kids can find him/her everyday.  Every night the elf goes back to the North Pole to report to Santa how the kids were that day.  We had been having some behavioral issues with Rachel and thought this would be good.  So on December 3rd our Elf showed up.  We had a family home evening about it the night before.  Rachel was so excited when she found her Elf.  She named it Tinsel.  Then about a week into it she changed her name to Chippie just like the Elf's name on the Elf on the Shelf Movie.  We told her that she would have an identity crisis if she switched it but she didn't believe us and did it anyway.
 Day 1
 Day 2
 Day 3
Day 4
Day 5
Day 6
Day 7 - This was the worst thing she did while at our house.
She also left the following note for Rachel because she was good for the 1st two days that Tinsel was here but then started to be extrememly horrible.

Day 8 - hanging out taking a bubble bath.  ha ha ha
Day 9
Day 10
Day 11 and the last day that she was with us for awhile.  Here is the letter from Tinsel/Chippie telling her that she was called back because Rachel wasn't doing as her mom and dad asked her. :-(

When she came back she gave Rachel this message.  She was gone for 5 days because it took that long for Rachel to finally decide that she would be happy and do things she needed to do.
Day 17
Day 18
Day 19
Day 20 - This one took Rachel awhile to find in the morning.  I actually had to help her so that we could get to school on time.  That was one of the main things was having it easy enough she could find it pretty quickly because she wouldn't do anything else in the morning until she found her.
Day 21
Day 22
Day 23 - Christmas Eve.  She also left Rachel a good bye letter letting her know she would be back again next year if she was willing to be good.  There for awhile we weren't sure this was going to be a tradition we really wanted to keep up if she was going to be so much worst than other times but she finally got the hang of it and it all worked out in the end.
