Zoo Boise

Scott has wanted to go with us to the Zoo and so we decided we would wait until he could go with us.  Well before we knew it school was starting again.  We decided to just take the plunge and we went to the zoo on the first day of fall semester for Scott.  I knew we wouldn't be there very long as Rachel's attention span isn't very long.  WE found this out when we took her to the cat zoo in Washington.  This way Scott could also get home to work on homework after we were finished.

Entrance into the zoo.
She was scratching her back on the tree just before we went in acting like a bear.  It was so cute.
We didn't get any pictures of the monkeys since they were the 1st thing we saw but the next thing we saw were some "cats"
We then saw the Giraffe's
This was the only elephant that they had but she sure had fun with him.  It shocked her the first time she walked past it and it sprayed her with water but when she figured out it sprayed water she didn't want to leave it.
 Having fun getting wet.
 Yep getting wet still.
This is a hut and she was using the microphone to talk to the birds.
The fearless lions.  Yeah they were being lazy.  Rachel was growling at them and they would just turn and look at her and roll right over.  They didn't care about her or want anything to do with this little person who was just making really loud noises.
We saw humongous hare's that had dug some pretty deep trenches around their enclosure.
Scott kept taking pictures of this bird because it was so cool looking with all his colors.  He didn't want his picture taken so every picture looks like this.  He was a fast little bugger.
Next we came to the penguins.  I always love the penguins.  This exhibit had much to be desired though for me.  It was fun for Rachel so I guess that's all that matters.
See how big I am.
Yeah Rachel's not as tall as the King Penguin.  She loved this exhibit.  Comparing an adult to a child.  I don't think I would like to meet up with a King Penguin.  Their pretty big.
 We saw Zebra's,
 and warthogs(six to be exact).
A goat that she was a little bit brave about touching.  You can tell only the fingertips would touch it.
This is the ostrich but Rachel was dead set on it being a peacock. You decide.
Not a very good picture but this is the Anteater.  He was huge.
And then we decided to go into the butterfly exhibit.  Now that was really cool.  We spotted some really cool butterflies but I of course have no idea what their names are.  We weren't allowed to touch them unless they landed on us.  There were workers there though that were helping the butterflies if they had any issues.

Scott actually had this one land on his hand.
Rachel was so sad that none of them would land on her.  Needless to say she moved to fast and when they did land on her she would move her head to look at them and they would fly right off.  We had to go into a little room before we could leave to make sure we had no butterflies still on us.  It is an offense to take any of the butterflies out of the exhibit even if one was trying to escape with you and you didn't know it.
 Being a prairie dog.
Being a turtle
Rachel got something in her foot and so at that point she was finished.  We still had the small animals kingdom to go through.  She was fine as long as she got to ride in the stroller but she wanted nothing to do with actually walking.  So when we finished going through those last few buildings we left and headed back home.  It was fun and she had fun.  We will have to do it again so she will know what it's like to go through zoo's and hopefully not get so bored so quickly.
